The most important thing is to create something beautiful on paper. This can be achieved using a variety of techniques. What do we do?

  • Sketching with various materials, such as pencil, chalk, pastels, watercolours and the like.
One or more of these sketches can serve as a starting point for further development into a painting, whether in colour or not.
  • Focus on colour theory; an insight into how colours are composed, the application of shadows or colour nuances.
  • Colouring in a black-and-white photo you’ve taken yourself.
  • Adapting an image of an existing painting in your own unique way, both in concept and colour.
  • A focus on perspective.
