On the Gorp and Roovert estate, you can savour the atmosphere of days gone by, of the vast, silent heathland as depicted on topographical maps from the mid-19th century. The walk takes you through heathland, wooded areas with conifers and oaks, and to the border church dating from 1642, a sign that you are close to Belgium.
